This is a humorous and highly imaginative narrative written in diary form. The teacher is without her usual transport to school and arrives
by other means (including hang-glider and elephant) until she has the opportunity to fix her car. The parts of the text that do not involve repetition are effectively supported by colorful illustrations.
Purpose
This is an ideal title to teach the sequence of the week days, to introduce a class diary activity, or to begin a transport study. It could also lead into an exploration of rhyme.
