Overview
¡Preparada, lista, salta! is a nonfiction text describing how the jumping spider gets from leaf to leaf. It is fully supported by excellent photographs, sequenced to show each step in the process. The students will need time to search the photographs and consider the graphophonic cues as they begin each new page.
Purpose
This informational text gives children the chance to predict outcomes by careful interpretation of the images in the story. There is the opportunity to look at the use of the ellipsis as a means of introducing a tension into the text. The information on the inside back cover allows for a more indepth study of the jumping spider.
