Overview

Many students will be able to relate to this narrative about a family trying to bath a dog.  The story uses natural language with energetic action and humor throughout.  The illustrations are quite complex, demanding independent interpretation of the text by the reader.  The plot provides an example of how narratives begin, develop, and end.

Purpose

This text offers the students opportunities to study the use of prepositions and past-tense verbs.  It is a good example of a narrative text involving plot development, various characters, and the resolution of a problem.
